The Cycling2MyRoots campaign raises support for persecuted Christians amid crisis in Iran and regional instability.

On May 9, Arotin Babakhani will set off from the Netherlands towards the Syunik Mountains in Armenia, near the Iranian border. Through this initiative, he aims to raise funds for persecuted Christians through Transform Iran. The Cycling2MyRoots campaign invites people to get involved.

In the lead-up to his departure, Arotin was interviewed by multiple media outlets, including the Dutch TV program Uitgelicht! Extra on Family7 on April 21, where he shared more about his unique and personal mission.

A personal story

Arotin grew up in the Netherlands after his parents were forced to flee Iran due to persecution. His deep connection to his country of origin is the driving force behind this journey.

Iran is in my heart. How special it would be if I could one day go to a free Iran and worship God there, together with my wife and children—without fear or persecution.

A vision becoming reality

What makes this journey even more remarkable is that Arotin had a vision at the age of 19 in which he saw himself making this trip. Now, more than 15 years later, that vision is becoming reality.

Stand with persecuted Christians

In a time of continued instability and humanitarian crisis in Iran, Arotin hopes through this journey to mobilize people to pray for Iran and support persecuted Christians. Along the way, he will share stories, meet people and visit churches, including in Turkey.

Spreading the word and inviting support

Arotin’s story was featured on April 21 on the Dutch TV program Uitgelicht! Extraon Family7 (above). He was also featured on Groot Nieuws Radio (March 25), where he shared more about his remarkable journey.

Arotin has been interviewed by both Christian and secular media, including Reformatorisch Dagblad, Cvandaag, Meppeler Courant and De Stentor. In addition, he has spoken in various churches across the Netherlands, sharing his personal story and the mission behind his journey.
