In May, I will get on my bike for a special and deeply personal journey: 5,547 kilometers from the Netherlands to the Syunik Mountains in Armenia, near the Iranian border. Through this journey, I want to raise awareness of the crisis in Iran and raise funds for persecuted Christians through Transform Iran.
A Vision Becoming Reality
As a child, I came to the Netherlands after my parents were forced to leave Iran out of fear of persecution. Iran is close to my heart. The chance that I will ever be able to return to Iran is small, but how special it would be to one day show my children where I come from.
When I was 19, I received a vision that I would one day cycle to this place. Now, more than 15 years later, the moment has come to truly make this journey.
Support for Persecuted Christians
This journey is not only a physical challenge. It is also a way to reflect on the reality of Christians who live under daily pressure because of their faith. Along the way, I will visit Iranian churches in Turkey and share the stories of Christians who were forced to leave their country, family, and freedom because of their faith. Through this journey, I also want to bring people together to pray for Iran and to make practical support possible.
