How to pray for Iran: Mission Network News
by Katey Hearth
We can’t do much to change conditions on the ground for our Christian brothers and sisters in places like Iran. But God holds the world in His hands and listens to His children’s voices.
In other words, prayer moves the hand of God, and conditions change that cannot be altered by human means.
“We are not measured or judged by the world’s standards. When we talk about results in the kingdom of heaven, we can’t get there without the spiritual element,” Lana Silk with Transform Iran says.
The Word of God tells us clearly that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. This is spiritual warfare.
Yet, to fight well, you must use the most effective weapons. “When we want to pray, sometimes we feel a little bit lost,” Silk says.
“‘Okay, great. I understand that prayer is important or that I must pray, but what do I pray? How do I pray?’”
Transform Iran has two solutions on its website. “Our heart is to enable the Body of Christ to engage with what God is doing in Iran,” Silk says.
First, “there are generic things that you can constantly bring before the throne of God in prayer. Then, if you want to get active and get specific, we invite you to sign up for our newsletter,” Silk says.
“Your prayers are important. They are essential to the continuing work that God is doing in Iran.”

“Month after month, we’ll give you insight into what is happening on the mission field, what the current needs are, the projects that need prayer covering,” Silk says.
