The mass protests in Iran were initially sparked by severe economic hardship at the turn of the year. They have since grown into a broad rejection of the ruling regime in Tehran.

Authorities have responded with extreme force, and multiple sources report widespread deaths and mass arrests. In an effort to conceal the scale of the crackdown, the Iranian regime has imposed strict censorship, including internet shutdowns and media restrictions.

In this German radio interview, Farshid, a producer with Persian Christian Radio, shares first-hand insight into the situation facing ordinary Iranians, and explains why Christian radio broadcasts remain a vital source of truth, hope, and connection for people inside the country.
