Muslims Are Running to Jesus Amid Spiritual Awakening in Iran: Charisma News

by Shelby Bowen

There is an explosive underground church movement happening across Iran right now. For a country that has suffered extreme suppression, people are searching for hope and truth. God is visiting Iran and they aren’t passing up His invitation.

We sat down with Lana Silk with Transform Iran to talk about the supernatural visitations, miraculous conversions and move of the Holy Spirit in the country. The boldness of the underground church will inspire you and encourage you to step out boldly in your faith to love Jesus with everything you have.

In early September, a young Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini was traveling to Tehran to visit family. She was arrested by the morality police for wearing a hijab improperly. Mahsa suffered a concussion while in custody and later died. Since then, protests have continued as women burn their hijabs and cut their hair to show the current regime that they are tired of being suppressed.

Lana Silk with Transform Iran says around 400 people have been killed since the protests began. “50 of these are children who have been involved in these arrests,” Silk says.

Through times of despair, the gospel is going forth in the nation. Transform Iran is working with the underground church to share the love of Jesus to those who are hurting and broken. “What we have to be careful of is to make sure we don’t come across or present ourselves as another regime that is trying to take over,” Silk says.

Many Iranians are hesitant of any infiltration of Western culture, so Transform Iran is working to empower the Christians within the country to be disciples who make disciples and awaken the people to where their roots actually come from and that points back to the Bible.

Silk says they are walking the gospel practically. Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, walked in signs and wonders and that is exactly what they are doing today.

How is God visiting you in your life today? Are you responding to His call? Watch the full interview to hear from Lana the importance of responding to God when he calls.
